What is Body Butter?
At Butter Yourself, our Body Butter is a luxurious skincare product that provides deep hydration with optional fragrance and SPF. While body butters differ around the world, ours can be used on the body and face for most skin types help your skin stay bright and moisturized.
What is Body Butter made from?
We use pure mango butter and other natural oils to create a Body Butter that absorbs well and feels great on the skin. Butter Yourself products are 100% natural, gluten-free, vegan, and free of artificial dyes. You can also add SPF 30 for increased UV protection.
What is the texture like?
Depending on your local climate, your butter may arrive more whipped or more solid. Either is okay, and you can adjust it to your preference. When solid, our Body Butter will have a consistency similar to a solid deodorant. At room temperature, it has a lovely consistency that is similar to real butter.
How should I store my Body Butter?
Our Body Butters are sensitive to drastic changes in temperature, so don't freeze or microwave it. You can store it in the fridge if you prefer a more solid consistency. Don't leave your butter in direct sunlight or a hot car. It will melt at high temperatures. If your product does melt, just stir it and pop it in the fridge to restore your preferred consistency!
How should I use my Body Butter?
You need very little butter to get started, usually about the size of a penny. It works best on clean skin, but remove excess water first. If your skin gets too greasy, you have likely used too much. Rub it in to a larger area or wipe small amounts off with a cloth. Our butters are safe for face and body applications for most skin types, but use caution if your are prone to acne. If you have ordered a particularly strong scent like cinnamon or peppermint, use extra caution around your eyes. Your butter is also safe to use for most hair types, but may stain clothing as it is oil based. Use caution with delicate fabrics.
What else should I know?
Since our products are made from mango butter, they should not be used if you have a mango allergy. They are also not meant to be eaten or used internally in any way. The essential oils used to create these butters, though natural and safe for skin, may be toxic if eaten in large amounts. Do not use your butter to cook. If you develop a rash or allergic reaction to your product, stop using it and seek the advice of a qualified doctor. These products are not meant to treat, cure, or prevent any disease. You can customize the smell of every product that we offer, whether you purchase a Body Butter, Scrubbing Butter, or Foam Cleanser. We have dozens of scents for you to choose from, and you can combine any of them to create a custom fragrance. For Body Butters, you can customize them further by adding all-natural SPF 30 or an all-natural fun color!
Are these products really all natural?
Yes, it's true! The base of all of our products is all-natural mango butter. For the bright colors in our Body Butters, we use all-natural mica powder. This comes from rocks and minerals without any added dyes or artificial colors. Our Scrubs are made with real sugar, our Cleanser is all-natural, and we use premium essential oils for our fragrances.
